WHY WE STARTED

SHOCK came into being in 2022 as a village response to a planning application by Land Value Alliances and local landowners, the Chinnocks, to build an estate of 120 houses on 25 acres of green fields to the west of the village.  Villagers feel that the building of 97 new houses since 2016 (a 25% increase) is already a more than generous contribution to housing needs by Keinton Mandeville for a village of its size, character and strained resources and infrastructure.
